The Super Bowl is the fixture that sets storylines in stone and immortalises names, faces and journeys. A long-suffering fanbase will testify that Cincy (Who Dey?) were recently one of the NFL’s worst teams, but they’ve improved no end and pulled off upset after upset to make the unlikeliest Super Bowl run in a very, very long time.

The Rams are their polar opposite, an all-glamor, all-star outfit that’s gone all-out to win the big prize right now. They’ve added superstar WR Odell Beckham Jr., three-time All-Pro linebacker Miller and veteran QB Stafford to a roster that already contained Donald, Cooper Kupp and Ramsey, and though it’s taken a while to gel they seem to be peaking at the perfect moment.

The Bengals’ jaw-dropping rise to the top has been a breath of fresh air, especially as it’s been led by a pair of youngsters, in inspirational sophomore QB Burrow and rookie sensation WR Chase.

Of course, the Super Bowl isn’t just about what happens when the clock’s ticking, and you can read on as we explain how you’ll be able to watch Super Bowl 2022 – you can even watch a FREE Super Bowl live stream in some countries – and what you can expect at the Super Bowl 56 halftime show.

Against quarterback Patrick Mahomes, tight end Travis Kelce, wide receiver Tyreek Hill and the rest of Kansas City’s offense, the spotlight in this matchup has always fallen on Denver’s defense. The secondary has always been tested by how Mahomes extends plays, but in recent years, it has provided one of his most difficult challenges. Down starting cornerbacks Pat Surtain II and Ronald Darby, the group will have its work cut out for it. Denver will regain several playmakers like outside linebacker Bradley Chubb from the Reserve/COVID-19 list after they missed last week’s game, and his effort could go a long way in the absence of several of the secondary’s top players.

Denver’s offense will need to be more productive than it’s been recently, though. The Broncos have scored 13 or fewer points in four of their last five games, starting with a nine-point output against Kansas City in Week 13. Quarterback Drew Lock, making his third start with Teddy Bridgewater out, will look to lead that effort. He’s yet to turn the ball over as the starter, but the offense has struggled in the red zone to score points. Denver’s rushing attack, led by running backs Melvin Gordon III and Javonte Williams, will also aim to bounce back from a two-week span with a total of 101 yards on the ground.

Earlier in the week, the team placed Bridgewater, guard Dalton Risner and safety Kareem Jackson on injured reserve, and on Friday, Head Coach Vic Fangio ruled out Darby (shoulder) and Surtain (calf). The team also listed four players as questionable: defensive end Shelby Harris (ankle/illness), Nate Hairston (illness) and kicker Brandon McManus and punter Sam Martin, who are currently on the Reserve/COVID-19 list.

The Chiefs, meanwhile, ruled out tackle Lucas Niang (knee) and running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire (shoulder).

The full week’s injury report can be viewed here.

Former GM of the Phillies has questionable opinion of Antonio Brown

Former Philadelphia Phillies general manager Ruben Amaro Jr. shared his thoughts about NFL wide receiver Antonio Brown.

Antonio Brown has dominated the professional sports news cycle this week in regards to what happened in Week 17 of the NFL season. In the middle of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ game against the New York Jets, Brown took off his equipment and walked to the locker room shirtless.  Many in the sports world shared their thoughts after watching the Brown situation unfold on television that quickly spread like wildfire on social media feeds.

Former Philadelphia Phillies general manager Ruben Amaro Jr. shared his opinion on Brown in a tweet.

What caused the situation between Brown to escalate was a disagreement with the coaching staff. Head coach Bruce Arians asked Brown to enter the game twice, which the wide receiver declined. From there, Brown took off his helmet and jersey, while throwing his gloves and shirt into the stands of MetLife Stadium.

After Tampa Bay’s 28-24 victory, Arians announced during his press conference that Brown was “no longer a Buc.” Even with Arians’ proclamation, the Buccaneers have yet to officially release him from his contract.

There were reports from those close to Brown that he was playing with a hurt ankle which caused him to miss practice last week. Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times reported that friends of the wide receiver urged him to see a top doctor outside of the Buccaneers organization. After undergoing an MRI, it was confirmed that Brown was dealing with “serious pain.”

This season, Brown recorded 45 receptions for 545 yards and four touchdowns.

Packers safety responds to MVP voter who called Aaron Rodgers a ‘jerk’

Green Bay Packers safety Adrian Amos responded to an NFL MVP voter who said that he will not be voting for quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

Just before Super Bowl 56, it is likely that Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers will win the NFL MVP award for the second-consecutive season. But, he will not do so unanimously. Pro Football Weekly’s Hub Arkush revealed that he would not be voting for Rodgers, whom he called the “biggest jerk in the league.”

Packers safety Adrian Amos responded to Arkush’s comments, but not with words. Instead, he used two crying laughing emojis in a tweet.

Packers: Adrian Amos responds to MVP voter who called Aaron Rodgers a “jerk”

The comments, linked above, have went viral throughout the NFL media world. Amos came across them and decided to share his thoughts on them.

Green Bay clinched home field advantage throughout the playoffs after they defeated the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday night, bringing their record to 13- 3. One of the main reasons they were got in this position is due to the play of Rodgers, who looked as though he would not play for the team in 2021 based off the reports and drama throughout the offseason. Rodgers returned to the Packers, and are now in great position to reach the Super Bowl.

This year, Rodgers recorded 3,977 passing yards, 35 passing touchdowns and four interceptions on a 68.6 completion percentage. This is one year after Rodgers threw for 4,299 yards, 48 touchdowns and five interceptions last year, which netted him the third NFL MVP award of his career.

Rodgers may very well be adding a fourth MVP trophy to his mantle soon.

Oh my god, Bears insider says team might actually keep Ryan Pace

A Chicago Bears insider has heard from “very good sources” that general manager Ryan Pace is likely to remain with the organization.

The Chicago Bears are coming off an impressive 29-3 victory over a bad New York Giants team. Despite that, the Bears are 6-10 on the year and all attention will be on them regarding whether they keep head coach Matt Nagy and general manager Ryan Pace. For the latter, one insider believes that his job may be safe.

During an appearance on 670 The Score in Chicago, Pro Football Weekly’s Hub Arkash said that he’s heard from “very good sources” that Pace will probably be “remaining with the organization (in some capacity).”

Bears insider believes that Ryan Pace will remain with organization

One can only imagine what the reaction of the Bears fanbase will be if they ultimately retain Pace, whether in the same role or in another position.

Pace has brought to Chicago to be the team’s general manager, after spending 14 years with the New Orleans Saints. Perhaps the move that Pace is most known for is trading a bevy of draft capital to move from the third-overall spot to the No. 2 slot to take a quarterback. With Patrick Mahomes and Deshaun Watson on the board, the Bears selected Mitchell Trubisky. After a promising sophomore season, the Trubisky pick never panned out, as he is currently the backup quarterback for the Buffalo Bills.

Pace did make the huge move at this past year’s NFL Draft, where they moved up from the No. 20 spot to select Ohio State quarterback Justin Fields with the 11th-overall selection.

In regards to Nagy, NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport reports “the likely outcome” is that the Bears will move on from him. He notes that the search for a new head coach will begin in Week 18 following their game against the Minnesota Vikings.

Bears fans, all you can do is wait until after Week 18 to get a clearer picture regarding the status of both Pace and Nagy.

Titans LB Bud Dupree charged after fight with Walgreens employee

Tennessee Titans linebacker Bud Dupree was charged with misdemeanor assault following an incident with a Walgreens employee.

Tennessee Titans linebacker Bud Dupree was issued a citation on Tuesday charging him with a misdemeanor assault following an altercation at a Nashville-area Walgreens.

According to the Metro Nashville Police Department report, there was a verbal altercation between a group of individuals and a 20-year-old employee on Sunday night, around 8:00 p.m. CT. From there, the group left until reentering the store with Dupree, who allegedly grabbed the employee and his phone.

There is video of the incident, which you can view at this link.

Bud Dupree charged with misdemeanor assault following Walgreens incident

In the citation, the exact charge is listed as “assault-fear of bodily injury.” Dupree and his attorney met with detectives on Tuesday, per the report.

The incident occurred after the Titans defeated the Miami Dolphins 34-3 on Sunday, which propelled them into first place in the AFC.

Dupree is set to report for booking in three weeks time.

Dupree spent the first six years of his career with the Pittsburgh Steelers. After posting 231 total tackles, 65 quarterback hits and 39.5 sacks, Dupree signed a five-year, $82.5 million deal with the Titans, coming off a torn ACL.

In 10 games this season (five starts), Dupree recorded 14 combined tackles, eight quarterback hits, three sacks and one forced fumble.

The Titans are set to play the Houston Texans this Sunday.

Latest Antonio Brown injury update puts Bucs’ exit in perspective

Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Antonio Brown was reportedly dealing with what could be a major ankle injury when he left the game on Sunday.

Brown was initially ridiculed by the national media, and given the information at their disposal, it’s easy to see why. Yet, as teammate Tom Brady and others have suggested, it’s best to let the entire story materialize before making such a judgement.

“Antonio’s friends were worried about the pain he was experiencing so they encouraged him to see a top surgeon outside the Bucs’ organization. That visit and an MRI confirm his serious pain…” Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times reported.

Per Stroud, Brown is known for having a “high pain threshold,” so sometimes he plays through injuries he shouldn’t. During Sunday’s game against the New York Jets, even he was feeling that pain. Brady commented on Brown’s exit on Tuesday:

“I’ve known Antonio for a couple years now, you know, pretty closely,” he said. “We’ve obviously been teammates and I would just say I love him, I care about him, and I have a lot of compassion. I have a lot of empathy for the things that are happening in his life. So, it’s a lot of challenges we all face from time to time. I think the best thing is to have a support system, even outside of football, because again, yeah, we are football players, we’re athletes, we give everything we can on the field, but we also have off field lives, too. And I’m gonna continue to do everything I can to try to be a great friend and supportive to Antonio and the things he’s going through.”

Antonio Brown injury update: Will another team give AB a chance?

If Brown’s exit turns out to be a giant injury misunderstanding, then perhaps. This isn’t the first time Brown has dealt with an unfortunate exit.

Brown is the same man who forced his way out of Pittsburgh, and then Las Vegas. His friendship with Brady landed him another chance in New England and then Tampa Bay, but per coach Bruce Arians, he’s not longer a member of the Bucs. Yet, Tampa has yet to officially drop him from the roster.

The long, confusing situation surrounding Brown is slowly trickling out, and if we’ve learned anything over the last few days, perhaps we can reserve judgement. If anything is certain, it’s that Brown’s 2021-22 season is over.

NFL MVP voter refuses to vote for ‘jerk’ Aaron Rodgers

One voter for the NFL’s MVP award will not be selecting Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

The Green Bay Packers officially clinched the top seed in the NFC and home field advantage throughout the playoffs with their 37-10 win over the rival Minnesota Viking. Green Bay holds the best record in the entire league (13-3) and look like the favorites to hoist the Lombardi Trophy at season’s end. One of the main factors in that is due to the play of quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who is the betting favorite to win the NFL MVP for the second-consecutive year.

There is one voter who will not elect Rodgers as league MVP, and that is Hub Arkush of Pro Football Weekly. During an appearance on 670 The Score in Chicago, Arkush called Rodgers a “jerk” and explained why the Packers signal caller will not get his vote.

The quote below comes courtesy of Pro Football Talk’s Michael David Smith.

NFL MVP voter not electing ‘jerk’ Aaron Rodgers

“I don’t think you can be the biggest jerk in the league and punish your team, and your organization and your fan base the way he did and be the Most Valuable Player,” Arkush said. “Has he been the most valuable on the field? Yeah, you could make that argument, but I don’t think he is clearly that much more valuable than Jonathan Taylor or Cooper Kupp or maybe even Tom Brady. So from where I sit, the rest of it is why he’s not gonna be my choice. Do I think he’s gonna win it? Probably. A lot of voters don’t approach it the way I do, but others do, who I’ve spoken to. But one of the ways we get to keep being voters is we’re not allowed to say who we are voting for until after the award has been announced. I’m probably pushing the envelope by saying who I’m not voting for. But we’re not really supposed to reveal our votes.”

Arkush even went as far to say that he can “guarantee” that he “will not be the only one not voting for [Rodgers.]

To say Rodgers has had an eventful year is an understatement. There was the drama throughout this past offseason that put into question whether Rodgers would actually return and play for the Packers in 2021. But, both sides reached an agreement on a return, and it has paid dividends for both sides.

This year, Rodgers has thrown for 3,977 yards, 35 touchdowns and four interceptions all while completing 68.6-percent of his passes.

There are cases to be made as to who deserves to win the NFL MVP for the 2021 season. Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady, Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor and Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Cooper Kupp are all names in the conversation, as Arkush mentions in the quote above.

We will get an answer as to who is the NFL MVP just ahead of Super Bowl 56.

Ben Roethlisberger sends message to Steelers fans: ‘We are truly grateful’

Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger appreciated fans who came out to watch him at Heinz Field.

Big Ben went out with a win at Heinz Field on Monday night against the Cleveland Browns, although he didn’t play that well in the second half. Najee Harris helped carry the Steelers to victory with over 100 yards rushing, and a clinching touchdown in the final minute.

Roethlisberger got the chance to kneel it out, and that’s when the emotions hit him. After a television interview with ESPN and local radio, Roethlisberger took everything in, running a lap around the field and thanking fans individually.

As if that weren’t enough, Roethlisberger and his wife thanked fans via a statement on social media.

“My family and I are overwhelmed with the love and support we have received around last night’s game. We are truly grateful for every one of you,” Roethlisberger says.

Steelers: Ben Roethlisberger thankful for fans’ support

Roethlisberger and the Steelers have a very small chance to make the playoffs, so Monday’s game was almost certainly his final game at Heinz Field, while next Sunday will be his last game in general against the rival Baltimore Ravens.

If the Colts were to lose with the Jaguars next week, then the Steelers would make the Wild Card round win a win over the Ravens.

However, the Jaguars don’t have much to play for — if anything, they have a lot to lose for. A defeat at the hands of the Colts would guarantee the No. 1 pick for Jacksonville. This would be the second year in a row the Jaguars select first overall. 2021 No. 1 overall pick Trevor Lawrence still has plenty to prove after a tough rookie year.

All in all, Sunday should be another appreciation of Roethlisberger, even from rival fans who have grown to loathe him over the years.
