Umm-e-Hani, an uncapped off-spinner, was picked up for the one-day international part of the trip, while injured Diana Baig was ruled out of both series.
Pakistan’s Captain Javeria Khan Is on The T20 Squad
After a hiatus of 15 months, former Pakistan captain Javeria Khan has been called up to the Twenty20 International squad for the home series against Ireland that will take place the following month.
Umm-e-Hani, an uncapped off-spinner, has also been picked up by the selectors for the one-day international portion of the trip. Due to a shoulder ailment, senior fast bowler Diana Baig will not be participating in either of the next series.
As a result of her ankle injury, which caused her to miss the most recent Asia Cup, Fatima Sana has now healed to the point where she is included in both the T20I and ODI teams for the upcoming series against Ireland.
Following the injury that she sustained while competing in the first Women’s Caribbean Premier League, she has just completed a period of rest lasting four weeks as part of the recovery process.
The fact that Hani was called up even though she does not have any noteworthy domestic performances to back up her selection has caused some people to raise their eyebrows.
However, according to ESPNcricinfo’s understanding, she was selected primarily based on her performances in the most recent women’s camp.
Her comeback comes after a difficult past 15 months, during which she scored just 141 runs over ten one-day internationals (with an average of 14.10) and was moved down from category A to category C on the list of players eligible for national contracts.
She’s In the T20 Squad
Asmavia Iqbal, the chief selector, said that Javeria Khan’s return to the Twenty20 International squad will “boost the side’s batting” and provide stability at the top of the order.
Javeria Khan made her comeback after being away for a while.
Because of the team’s strong performance in the most recent ACC Women’s T20 Asia Cup, we have not made many changes to the roster.
This is because we want to have a well-balanced and stable squad in preparation for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup, which will take place the following year.
As the club will be missing the seasoned Diana Baig, Fatima Sana’s return to the lineup will be a welcome boost to the fast-bowling department.
“I am certain that the players will rise to the challenge and perform,” the commentator said, “as significant ICC Women’s Championship points will be up for grabs for direct qualifying to the next ODI World Cup.”
In addition to the injured Baig, Pakistan has also removed Anam Amin and Gull Feroza from their One-Day International squad. Instead, they have added left-arm spinner Nashra Sandhu and pacer Kainat Imtiaz to the group, which also includes Hani.
Sidra Nawaz, who hasn’t had a successful performance in recent times in the shortest format, has been replaced by Javeria. However, Sidra Nawaz will continue to play ODIs and will keep her berth in the team.
Following the conclusion of Ireland’s three One-Day Internationals (ODIs) during their tour of Pakistan, the team will compete in three Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is).
The one-day internationals (ODIs) will take place on November 4, 6, and 9, while the twenty-minute matches will take place on November 12, 14, and 16. The Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore will serve as the host venue for all of the matches.
It has never happened before that a senior Ireland team, either men’s or women’s, has traveled to Pakistan.
Finishing Line
After checking into the team hotel on October 25, the members of Pakistan’s T20I and ODI teams will participate in a camp in Lahore that will last for a total of four days. Fielding and net sessions are scheduled for the squads on the 26th and 28th of October.
These will be followed by two intra-squad practice matches of 50 overs each on the 27th and 29th of October.
